Houston - Mission Accomplished!
Sunday morning, February 20th was a great day at the Cokesbury United Methodist Church. PlumCute, Smirky, Fluffy, Miss Lucy, Rosebud, and I had a wonderful time sharing the morning worship service with almost 200 people. Our theme was "In the hard times, run to Jesus!" We talked about Jeremiah 29:11:
"I know the plans I have for you, plans not to harm you, but to prosper you; to give you hope and a future."
Jonah had to decide to go God's ways. When he did, God blessed him. When he chose to go his own way, it caused BIG problems, not just for him, but also for the others on the ship.
Sometimes when things are tough, God is trying to draw our attention to Him. Unfortunately, many people - when times get tough - do not "run to Jesus" but "run away from God."
I ended the service by doing a mime presentation of "Untitled Hymn" by Chris Rice (Come To Jesus). Many people have been contacting the church to see if they can get a video of the service. It was a wonderful morning. Praise be to God!
